Surgeons use liposuction technique to harvest fat cells from your stomach, hips or thighs and inject the fat cells into your breasts, where they remain for life.
However, every clinic has its own style, today we would like introduce our real patient and her story about fat breast experience in USA and Korea, Fresh Clinic.
How many cc for breast fat transfer can be injected?
USA Doctor:
“It’s not a matter of how much can be safely transferred, you can transfer more than 420 cc to match current size, it’s a matter of how much is going to stay. Instant gratification is the hallmark of today’s society. Unfortunately when it comes to breasts, you will likely have to stage the transfer, meaning you’ll have to do a transfer from the abdomen, then maybe a transfer from the waist. This is because only a portion of what is put in (I mean fat) actually stays. You’ll have to wait 4 months to determine how much fat has been retained. Generally 40-50% stays when a large amount is put in.”
Fresh Dr.Hong:
“To ensure proper nourishment and blood supply, it is important to transfer fat in small increments. The amount of fat that can be grafted depends on the thickness of the native breast tissue. If there is a substantial amount of existing tissue, there is more space available for the fat grafts. However, if there is minimal breast tissue, the amount of fat that can be grafted at once is limited. On average, around 200cc to 250cc of fat is typically grafted, and even under optimal conditions, only around half of the grafted fat survives. As a result, multiple grafting sessions may be necessary, with a 5-6 month gap between each session.”
Is any scars after breast fat transfer
USA Doctor:
“A breast fat transfer procedure requires incisions, and whenever a surgery requires incisions, scars will result. Fortunately, scars created by the breast fat transfer process are actually much smaller than those required for breast implants.“
Fresh Dr.Hong:
“In Korea, the preference is for a natural appearance despite the prevalence of plastic surgery. Consequently, visible indications of medical procedures are strongly frowned upon. Scarring, in particular, is highly undesirable, especially in sensitive areas like the breasts. I fully empathize with the fear of scarring in this region. To address this concern, I employ an extremely small cannula insertion point for fat injections, resulting in minimal visibility of any future scars. I strive to apply the same technique in liposuction procedures.”

Dr. Hong was great but I would also like to say how amazing his team is! I had a breast fat transfer a few years ago by another Dr. here in the U.S. before I went to Fresh PS with Dr. Hong. The scars left after the first surgery can be seen in my before photos on the inner breasts and under my buttocks. Dr. Hong’s incisions are very small and tidy in comparison. The scar from injecting fat is only the the size of a pin point.
I wish I would have gone with Fresh the first time! I am only 4 weeks in and will post more towards the 3 month mark.I had liposuction on my underarm and fat harvested from my inner thighs for the fat transfer. The lipo is taking a little more time to heal on my arms than the rest of my body but it can take 2 months for it to resolve.
I have gained a whole cup size since the procedure but I will need to wait a bit longer for the final result.
